Dr. Seideman received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1981. He completed a two-year internship and residency in general surgery on the Harvard Medical School teaching service at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. While at Beth Israel Hospital, he received The Harris Yett award for outstanding work in Orthopaedic Surgery. He subsequently completed a three-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City in 1986. He was a postgraduate fellow in hip and knee joint replacement surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota until he joined Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset in 1987.

Dr. Seideman’s practice focuses on both primary and complex revision total hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as related disorders and arthritis of the hip and knee. With his colleagues at North Shore Hospital, he developed a widely used total hip replacement system and has performed clinical research on knee replacement systems. He has lectured nationally on various aspects of complex hip and knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Seideman is the Chief of the Joint Replacement Service at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He served as the Chief of the Joint Replacement Service at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York from year 2000 through 2011, prior to accepting his position at St. Francis Hospital. He specializes in hip and knee replacement.

Dr. Seideman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Peter D. Stein, M.D.Peter D. Stein, M.D.

Dr. Stein received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1987. He completed a one year internship in general surgery followed by a four-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. He completed a hand surgery fellowship at New York University Medical Center, followed by a prestigious AO International Trauma Fellowship in Basel, Switzerland.

Dr. Stein joined Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset in 1993. His special interests include hand and wrist fractures, sports-related injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and arthritis of the hand and wrist. He is Chief of the Division of Hand Surgery at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset; Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and a hand surgery consultant for the Long Island Ducks Minor League Baseball Team. He has lectured on numerous topics in hand surgery both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Stein is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has a Certificate in Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Richard J. D'Agostino, M.D.Richard J. D'Agostino, M.D.

Richard J. D'Agostino, M.D. received his B.A degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1978, where he was elected to the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1982. He completed his internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York in 1983, and completed his orthopaedic training at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1987. He completed a post- residency fellowship in sports medicine, arthroscopy, knee, shoulder, and related surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 1988.

Dr. D'Agostino is the Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He is an attending physician at the North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Eastern Orthopaedic Society, the New York State Orthopaedic Society and the International Cartilage Repair Society.

Dr. D'Agostino's specialty interests include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle and hip. He is currently on the development team of a shoulder replacement system. He is a national lecturer and instructor in innovative knee and shoulder procedures, including work at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago. He is a clinical investigator currently involved in the development of articular cartilage repair procedures, and he was recognized for his work in a national forum. He has devoted his practice to the care and treatment of athletes and their injuries. He has worked with athletes at all levels, including collegiate, professional and Olympic men and women.

Dr. D'Agostino is the former team physician and orthopaedic surgeon for the Long Island Lizards professional lacrosse team. He is the orthopaedic surgeon and team physician for all sports at Nassau Community College. He is team physician for Friends Academy. He is a former assistant team physician for the New York Yankees. He is a former ATP tennis physician and has served as a consultant to the U.S. Professional Golf Association. He has been a consultant to the United States Figure Skating Association. He is a U.S.A. Hockey certified coach at Cold Spring Harbor High School. He is the founder of the Student Athlete Screening Program at St. Francis Hospital for the prevention of sudden death in athletes. Dr. D’Agostino was voted to Castle Connelly “Best Doctors” List 2010 and 2011.

Hamid R. Mostafavi, M.D.Hamid R. Mostafavi, M.D.

Dr. Mostafavi received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his internship in general surgery at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn (Downstate Medical Center). Following his residency, Dr. Mostafavi spent 12 months at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland completing a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology.

Dr. Mostafavi is the Chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. He has been in practice with Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset since 1998. His special interests include operative and non-operative treatment of fractures, upper extremity trauma (shoulder, humerus, elbow, forearm and wrist injuries), lower extremity trauma (hip, femur, knee, tibia, foot and ankle injuries), pelvic and acetabulum fractures, management of polytrauma patients, geriatric fractures, non-unions and post-traumatic deformities. Dr. Mostafavi has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured nationally on numerous topics in the field of orthopaedic trauma surgery.

Dr. Mostafavi is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Medical Association, Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the Association for Osteosynthesis/Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (AO/ASIF).
